Quote: Is it just 135 mins to start in the metro liner? What is the multi time requirement? My girls employer is based in Florida and we have the offer to move there and I see they operate metros there. Do you know the routes/schedule there?

Thanks
I'm not sure if we are hiring at mins yet, but it's a very real possibility with how desperate we are for pilots. Flying the metro single pilot is extremely demanding and thus we have a higher washout rate with that plane.

If they do hire at mins, be sure to be every bit as prepared as you can. I just watched a guy receive a pink slip for a failed checkride a few weeks ago.

Florida wise, I'm not too sure since we just closed a base in Miami and moved some planes around. I know we have some stuff there still though.

We're desperate for pilots as it is. Just be confident flying a 6 pack and with single pilot ops and you're in.

We are offering a big incentive for SA227 pilots in the form of a $10,000 signing bonus and a 20% retention bonus 18 months in.
Before any 1200 hour guys jump on this, another requirement is previous 121 or 135 time. And you probably need 14-1600 hours minimum to go straight to a metro. (I don't know if there is an exact number that recruiting is using. Those are just based on my own experience of folks who are able to make it through training.)

Thanks guys I appreciate the information. I currently fly 135 in Alaska with my .293 and .299 check paperwork to show it so hopefully that would count. Trying to find my options. Thanks again!

Quote: My qualifications on a G1000 are simply that, a qualification I listed for my overall experience. I've had 5 students all pass Instrument checkrides as my time as an instructor so far - 1 has been on a G1000 and two were on aircraft that were equipped with standard analogue OBS/CDI.... Put another way I never flew ANY glass till about 300 hours ago and still regularly independently instruct in BASIC six packs, I also never even touched any GPS till I was half way through my instrument training. Ive done localizer BC non precision approaches using basic NAV/LOC REVERSE sensing just fine. Just wanted to clarify my previous experience instead of feeling like I just got put down for setting hands on a "too capable" airplane to be a "good" situational IFR Pilot.
I didn't intend it to be a put down for having time in a high tech plane. As someone correctly deduced, I have seen many pilots come through who have spent most of their training time in glass cockpit airplanes and had great difficulty transitioning to our "antique" aircraft. We even started offering a one week instrument refresher at a local flight school to folks before our indoc to help guys get through training.

Anyone heard of Key Lime? They will put you in the left seat of a metro at 1200hrs. Pays $55k starting from what I've heard.

Yea they fly out of Centennial in Denver last I saw. They went through a rough few years with accidents and horrible maintenance but a guy I skydived with from there said they got rid of some people and things are better than they were. He said he only flew 4 days a week and I think had 100% of benefits paid for. This was last fall.

If you hear anything else I'd be curious to hear. Good Luck!
