LoL.. I dunno what to say. JK enticing new hires to post on this forum to improve the reputation of the trianing department? Wow..

I think any competent new hire would likely not have much if any dealings with JK until the day they get signed off and are heading out the door. In three years that was the first and last time I ever saw the guy. If someone was speaking with him on a regular basis then that someone probably wasn't cut out for PDT to begin with. The good news: GoJet is hiring like mad, and due to their long history of taking PDT washouts you'd likely fly with a PDT washout CA there too!

Quote: Just maybe try and keep it hush..I dont know want keen or Modlin talking with me. I also had a question for you, you seem like you are experienced. I am currently getting ready for my MV (lesson 7) and had a question on circle to lands. I've heard 4 things from 4 different instructors. While holding the TCS button at MDA when are you allowed to actually descend below when you have the visual landing runway? I was told when established inbound, 45 degree point, or when u have the visual. Its just very frustrating sometimes hearing it so many different times!!whats your advice for the MV?
I call bull$hit on this one. This is definitely not a "new hire" but rather somebody in the company doing sexual favors for someone deep in the company. Does SBY management and CLT training dept. read these posts? You bet your a$$ they do! The "false" rumors that your wonderful head of training claims are in fact true. Avoid PDT like the plague because they really dont give 2 $hits about you. Its a dying airline and they (sby and clt) know it cannot be helped, i certainly hope and wish your place does actually turn around (get new airplanes, better bases, better CBA)

Quote: Well my tenure at piedmont has been nothing but a waste! They let my partner and I go this morning after 5 days off from the sim. They told us the hotel cost and sim is not economical to grant an extra sim session. Thanks anyway for your advice. Jay asked me for the password for this username and doesnt want me posting anything more. It will probably be him or another new hire. I deleted all these messages. Just a heads up not to respond back. I hope i find something elsewhere. Good luck
Jeeze! This place is such a joke, scaring new guys and threatening their career, wow

Will someone clarify?

Is being let go from training the career ender? Or is it the failure of the final checkride? ...or both?

Both it seems; hell it is nearly impossible to get on with any airline if you have a few Pt. 61 busts let alone a 121 training event.

If you get out without a failure on your record you may be OK. If you bust a checkride you'll have to explain it, and I think most airlines are looking at is as a disqualifier.

Big change after the Colgan crash. I watched PDT give 20+ sim sessions to newhires when I was going through CQ the last time. There was one newhire in particular who had more sim sessions in initial than I had in initial and 5 CQ's combined.

I have guys I consider friends in the training dept there to this day, but given the overall situation at the company, I hope ya'll keep getting the word out about the place.

Someone mind PM'ing me who's in the dept now? Just curious to see who's there and who got sick of it.

I think it's a cost vs reward scenario. If the majority can make it by with lets say 10 sims should they make exceptions for the few who may need an extra one or two? They are probably just as good pilots, but may take just a tiny bit longer to pass.

Wow, piedmontclt cut a deal with the devil for extra sim time, and the bible teaches that the devil does not care for any of his angels that serves him, the result comes out to piedmontclt gets the door on the way out. If this is not a testimony of some of the twisted malpractices going on with the head of training, I don't know what else is needed.
So notes to take for future new hires:
1) Do not cut a deal with training! I mean what the heck would you do that anyway!
2) if you need sim practice, go there in the hours of 12:00am to 0400am. You can use the simulator at that time without the full motion turn on.
3) If you have a long break in and between sim lessons, just chair fly all your procedures everyday to keep fresh.
