Quote: Anecdotally, I had to fly to ORD for an appt. Bought a ticket on AA round trip. 737-800 both ways. Their cabin service sucks. On the 4 hour flight back to LA, the FAs passed through coach one time asking "do you want anything?"

About 3 hours into the flight, I walked to the rear galley looking for a glass of water. All 3 FAs had the curtain drawn, feet kicked up and were playing Candy Crush.

I'm so happy to be working for Delta and partnering with a, largely, professional group of associates.

Carry on.
Union vs non union.
Quote: I posted that for the view of the TBIT and our codeshare partners flying the big uglies. First one I stumbled upon had a 'murican 777 and that awful paint scheme. Look past the eyesore tail!

If you think their cabin service is bad, you should see their cockpit procedures! Pretty sure they remain unchanged since the 1960's.

This is more what I was going for:

You younguns can fall in love with those God-awful POSs if you want, but I'd rather have a bunch of 737s than a single one of those things. Butt ugly... it doesn't fly, it is repelled by all that is Holy on this planet.

You're missing the point.

We are parking our largest and highest paying equipment while the companies we codeshare with are taking delivery of more big uglies.

Did they make fewer and shorter PAs?

Mostly because all of those companies are state supported....

They are still ugly, and I wouldn't be caught dead in one.
You know if they painted these in SkyTeam colors....
Quote: If we have a bid in 2014 but displacements from that bid are not done until 2015 can you guys go to the 777 or does the bid actually have to be posted after Jan 1 2015?
My understanding is that the company has to tell DALPA that it is the final bid of the year 2014, and therefore the bid where the fences won't apply.

Go fly a 737 before you say that. Sad to think a 900 is the 757 replacement. The thing is really underwhelming. Nicest thing I can say about it.
Quote: Good update from C20. While contractually legal, I really believe the way this whole thing was handled was disrespectful both by the company and the senior MEC types. The bid changed- drastically. They should have pulled it but didn't.

Also, given the "reduced growth" in the Atlantic, I'd say that is with high probability the final nail in the coffin of a "cure" for the JV balance. SD is a lawyer, so you have to read between the lines in what he writes. All the TATL growth is certainly not ours. Given that 25% of our largest metal is going away via assistance from our TATL network, the logic points one direction with regard to our TATL growth. Shrinking? Doubtful. Anemic? With certainty.
That was a great update they put out.

There are at least two nefarious things going on with this bid change. I'm just not sure what they are yet.
Now, if they want to pay protect me for what I can hold and then lock me, fine.

Two's in.
