Also, if my fenced airplane going away while the fences are still up results in my displacement, then my displacement should happen while the fences are still up so I couldn't displace to the 777. That's only fair.

My two cents.

Agreed here. They can do whatever they want with the planes but we have got to stop granting monthly contractual relief.

Which is why I don't support the ALPA PAC.

You should retract your assertion.

Not to nitpick, but it was 6 years ago. I, too, am a pilot partisan. I'm also a partisan American who believes in the greater good. I do check out what the PAC is doing.

Just countering Starcheck's assertion that ALPA hasn't endorsed presidential candidates, most notably the current one.

Really. And we need to start getting at least monthly updates from DALPA on where the JV balance stands. Every month that goes by only exacerbates the inevitable 100% for sure to happen contractual violation. Yes we are in the "cure period" in which the company has an opportunity to "keep its deals" [name that source] but we're already a third of the way through that period. If nothing is being done, and we're about to go even further the other way, then its obvious the company is engaging in flagrant bad faith planning.

We gave them the cure period, so they have controls right now. We're the pilots monitoring. We've were told to level off at FL230. We're currently at FL232 and the company is on a 6000 FPM redline descent with full boards out. But, technically, they haven't busted the altitude yet. I guess we should wait until after they do before we say something. Right?

Starcheck was partially correct.

ALPA didn't endorse Obama. Prater contacted several large MEC's and there wasn't enough consensus to do so, and the Executive Board never voted. Prater as ALPA president personally endorsed Obama. Prater as ALPA president voted for the AFL-CIO to endorse Obama.

I believe, however, that Starcheck is wrong on ALPA ever endorsing a Presidential candidate. I believe ALPA endorsed Clinton in 1996 and Kerry in 2004 through votes of the Executive Board.

Take a look at the PAC website. Last time I checked it was 60D-40R for contributions and growing more balanced all the time. Pilot Partisan ALPA has made some good friends on both sides of the aisle, with almost every letter or legislative action sponsored or pushed by ALPA coming with sponsors from both major parties.

...You should retract your assertion. It is as false as it is offensive to the dozen-odd Delta pilots who work very hard on the Hill.

This isn't for tsquare because it's just not possible for him to do anything else but what he does as shown above. But Starcheck, my assertions are not false. The article from Prater when he was ALPA president that Buzzpat posted is just one example. Many MEC's have either directly endorsed or strongly urged its members to vote straight Democrat. So now I'll ask you: Will you retract your assertions? Will you retract calling my statements of fact "offensive?"

Pay question.

Does a line holder get paid half the reserve guarantee or half the AVL on the end of the month paycheck?

Thanks.

My understanding is that the AE has to close after Jan 1, 2015 before anyone can bid to or displace to a formerly fenced aircraft.

If we're getting rid of old 747's, the only sensible thing to do would be to replace them with new ones.

There's no money in long haul passenger transportation.
