First, I'd love to see the dollar for dollar amount we sent to each politician. Second, official endorsements aren't required to let members know your position. I read everything ALPA put out the last 6 years. ALPA clearly did NOT support the McCain/Palin ticket. Everything written was heavily slanted toward Obama, and McCain routinely portrayed as anti-labor. Same with congressional candidates, and same with the run against Romney. If you didn't see that, I don't know what to say other than I'll let others decide what they recall regarding who ALPA was hoping you'd vote for.

You should give rip. ALPA is an affiliate of the AFL-CIO...a very far left organization.

And now this. I must say his actions make it impossible to support him as an airline pilot. I have no confidence that he is actually on the side of organized labor.
Totally agree.

Spare me the political talking points of a "Pilot Partisan" agenda. ALPA is a strong supporter of left wing politics. That's a fact.

Not speaking for Jerry, but I think I agree with him on this. We shouldn't grant any relief from displacements. If the company wants to displace on the top end while hiring on the bottom, let them. With our record, any contractual relief we give will ultimately hurt US far worse.

Also, if my fenced airplane going away while the fences are still up results in my displacement, then my displacement should happen while the fences are still up so I couldn't displace to the 777. That's only fair.

My two cents.

While there seems to be a lot of liberal pilots... on the ER... ... but truth is the democratic party's sympathies are not with 50,000 filthy rich ex-military private sector unionized airline pilots that probably will not vote for them, will not canvass neighborhoods and man call centers like say the SEIU.

Government unions and the IAM are where it's at. Who represents Boeing's unions anyways?

If we have a bid in 2014 but displacements from that bid are not done until 2015 can you guys go to the 777 or does the bid actually have to be posted after Jan 1 2015?

Where is the letter/memo saying we will increase European flying by 3%?

Denny,

You are not alone in this regard so I will try to clarify this issue for my fellow APCers.

DAL management has decided to accelerate the rate that we make adjustments to our Atlantic capacity. We will reduce our planned growth so as to minimize our capacity pull-down. The resultant increase in our planned reduction will allow us to maximize revenue by minimizing YOY growth in ASM's.

In lieu of the above I hereby nominate DAL marketing for the "First annual award for outstanding achievement in the field of excellence!"

Scoop

PS - For bonus points can anyone name my original source for the above paraphrased award???

Wrong!

Which is why I don't support the ALPA PAC.

You should retract your assertion.

Anything that interferes with your personal narrative just can't make a dent.

The dollar amounts and the recipients are on the ALPA PAC website. Look them up, I won't spoon feed you.

ALPA made no statements regarding the presidential elections, and many of our closest allies in Washington are conservatives.

Ditto. The UAL MEC endorsed Obama twice and a UAL 777 CA in my neighborhood blindly follows everything he says because of that. I think its called self before country. Kinda anti-JFK, and all that.

Homer J was the first recipient of that fine award. I thought I was the only person on earth who threw out that reference.

Every time I use it I laugh my arse off and everyone around me looks at me like I'm an idiot.
