Quote: So in their eyes when you pull it back and go slower it kills two birds with one stone - lower fuel burns and longer flight times to charge for. Makes sense.
Correct. Kinda a double edged sword in my mind. In one sense you want to make max money while burning minimum fuel. In another you want to do right by the owner.

Cruise speeds are what they are. It’s not like an airline where the cost index largely determines your speed. But you can pull it back with a favorable tail wind, climb higher, get better routing, select a runway with a shorter taxi and bring it to the ramp single engine. Within reason you can effect it like any good pilot.

I didn't understand that initially as I would go for shortest flight time that beat the fuel burn. And my metrics suffered.

Good luck.

Sounds like Flex lost/surrendered their Supersonic purchase order?

That's not fully clear yet. The only thing that is certain is that Flex won't be the "exclusive" operator of the Aerion IF it actually gets built.

Is anyone else getting called? I’ve got a little over 3K TT 300 TPIC and 1400 PIC with one internal rec. Curious how many they are pulling in right now and how fast.

I gave an internal rec and they got called for an April interview.

Not true. The company re-affirmed the order via social media.

I think DAC, or Onesky? invested in the development early on. They definitely did not cancel their order. And production is scheduled to start in 2023. I think it’s actually going to fly. I just hope it’s a money maker!

RE the supersonic order:

My previous post was 100% panic speculation on my behalf. I saw the NetJets announcement with a 2023 date and assumed the only way that would happen is if Flex/DAC surrendered their order. Since my post, I saw Flex’s reaffirmation on social media.

That’s my fault for speculating. You know what they say about assuming.
