Quote: For those who recently got the interview invite can you share what you've done up to this point with your application? how long ago did you apply? was it crickets and then one day of the blue you go the email? did you go to Job fairs? Civilian or Military? just trying to gauge the process going into the fall.

Thank you!

Applied at the end of January. Updated with my ATP in March. I got my 10 minutes of face time at the WAI job fair in March. I don't feel like it went particularly well, but not bad either. I've updated my app about once per month. 5 recs from Delta pilots. 3,200 TT, w/1600 TPIC, IP/EP. Majority of my time is Military. I had not heard a peep from DAL until I got the invite email on 5 Aug, interviewing 7 Sep.

Good luck!

Has anyone passed the cog tests with zero prep? Is it possible to just go in, follow the directions, and wing it?

That's how the tests are designed to be taken; yes.

How about the knowledge test? Possible to pass without reading all of the textbook sized books they suggest? I know about RST, but honestly don't want to spend the money. I have some gouge from an interview prep company that I have already paid for. Planning on just looking that over the week of and giving it a whirl.

So, all this prep work, does always landing on the right airport count?

You decided to take the interview now? With your job already you have nothing to lose. If it's not an absolute must to jump over I'd do what you are saying....if you feel you absolutely need to make the jump I'd spring for the rst job test gouge. The cog tests are pretty much the same as a post deployment mental health test

I have already figured out that I am not DELTA (Don't Ever Land There Again) material, since I don't agrue with controllers, land on taxiways, wrong airports, get lost......

The purpose of the JKT is to test weather a pilot can look at the topics supplied to the applicant before the interview, study those topics, and be tested on them in a relatively short period of time.

So, it does assume that you are going to study...but it also assumes that you're not going to know it all, thus the relatively low "passing" score (not really public knowledge, but there are lots of numbers in the 50%-70% range thrown around).

Honestly, I don't know why anyone would have the opportunity of a Delta interview, and then only half-assed the preparation for it. Even if they all ready worked for another legacy (or SWA), if there was the opportunity to have another job offer, it would be worth it to put some effort into getting the CJO.

Having choices like that to make is a great professional place to be.
