JetBlue hires a wide variety of people with different backgrounds. The competetive times seem to change every year. If you are interested and meet the requirements, apply! Good Luck!

Quote: Even though it's less than 3%, it's still a lot when you compare it to the amount of new hires. Attrition accounts for 25-35% of new hires. Jblue has hired about 200 so far this year and about 65 has quite...still have almost 5 months left. Attrition most likely will increase next year as well. JetBlue plans on hiring 370 next year with 10 pilots leaving a month.
Wow, 65 new hires out of 200 quit already?? I can see an FO with some time on property or Jr Capt leaving for a legacy, but why such a high turn over among new hires? Having aalmost 1/3 of your new hires leave in less than a year has me either questioning the job HR does in selecting candidates, or if there are underlying issues with the job itself. I certainly appreciate the insight you guys have provided on the attrition there.

No, I think he meant 65 total company wide left not new hires!

It's real simple... The legacies and fedex/UPS are hiring... All pay more and have better retirement bennies as well as upward mobility due to retirements (I have a friend who is now a DAL CA at his 16th month in the company... How long is it taking guys to get a full line as a FO at JetBlue? How long is the upgrade?).

Money talks, Bull$hit walks- until JetBlue starts having a competitive contract they'll become an increasingly revolving door outfit like SWA, frontier, Spirit, Atlas, and all the others have started to become...

All the majors are targeting the same applicants. It's a matter of economics for a lot of people... Management will be the first to tell you this is business. I'm glad there are some pilots willing to treat the industry the same way.

72 pilots are gone year to date from retirements, attrition, terminations, deaths, etc.

I've been here over 5 years and my system seniority number has improved by 138 numbers. YMMV

Anyone here know what kind of success 2nd time interviews have? My first interview with jetBlue was almost 2 years ago. I had never interviewed with a 121 carrier and was the 1st interview I had in 14 years. So, I know for a fact that I was not polished. I have some 121 time now and a few interviews under my belt, so I'm hoping to show better the second time around. Any advice or info would be appreciated.

I interviewed my first time, and got the TBNT, then interviewed 2 1/2 years later. Didn't know whether or not I was going to mention it until I was in the moment, but ended up basically telling everyone I came across that interview day, that it was my 2nd time interviewing. I felt like it was a great ice breaker, which led to nice conversations in both my 1st and 2nd panel interviews of the day. I feel like talking about it being my 2nd time around, I got to showcase humility, persistence, some humor and a genuine desire to work there.
I didn't do a professional prep course so I don't know what they would say about mentioning a previous interview, but I ran with my gut feeling, and it worked..........OR jetblue just needed warm bodies, and I fit the bill.
