The difference between your situation and mine is the lack of PIC time on my part and the referral. Hopefully that will come with time.
If they like pilots with "imperfect qualifications so they can't go to a Legacy carrier" ... well I'm their guy then and I would be there for the long run.
As long as I meet minimum qualifications to apply I'll keep it current.
Thanks for taking the time to answer!!

Quote: 1) 4000+ In corporate jets and turboprops,.. mostly PIC
2) Job fair? WTF is a job fair? 3) no Letter but a verbal "he's OK" referral. 4) hired more than 10 years ago,... one main reason they hired me was I could NOT go to a legacy carrier. Pilots with imperfect qualifications are more likely to get hired then and now,... good luck! PS. One thing that will not get you hired is any arrogant attitude or cockiness. Spirit Airlines is certainly the wrong airline for pilots that have those character defects unless you are trying to get into management.

Job Fair
So is there a place on their website or somewhere else where one can find the Job Fairs that Spirit will be attending?
Searching in Google hasn't been all that helpful.

Hello guys.. Just quick question regarding my application.... Would appreciate a reply... I put my app in few months back and I wanted to update it and I edit my profile but I went to next page, it just gives me empty field which I have already submitted and anyways I did it again but it just won't go ahead and keep me redoing the same fields. So I logout and login and this time my new resume was there but I was just wondering do I need to go to the thanks for submittion page all the time or just edit my resume and it's done..... will wait for one of you to use your expertise to help.. Good day

I would wear a suit. You can never under dress for a Job Fair. ( Unless FAPA states something different. I know Aero Crew Solutions always said to wear a suit).

Caveat up front - Take this with a grain of salt since I'm not a career consultant, and have nothing but my own experience and the advice of my own advisers to go on...

I intentionally wore something other than a white shirt with my suit. In a group of 500 dudes with nearly identical resumes and stories wearing white shirts, I figured it wouldn't hurt to be memorable as that one guy who looked sharp in a shirt with some color. Lets you pick a nicer tie too, if you're not stuck in the navy suit and tie with white shirt getup like everyone else. I think somewhere between 5 and 10 percent of the people at the job fair I attended were NOT wearing a white shirt. Pretty much everyone had a black, charcoal, or navy suit.

Not saying that a white shirt isn't a safe bet, but if your resume is like everyone else's and you're dressed just like everyone else, you're not giving them anything at all to help pick you out of the crowd and remember you. Attitude is important, and looking sharp and confident (without being arrogant) instead of being tense while trying to look like everyone else, can help with a first impression.

If they want to hire someone who looks exactly like everyone else, they've got 10,000 fully qualified candidates already and may not need you. Dress sharp and act confident but respectful, and it doesn't matter what color your shirt is as long as you're making it clear that you take it seriously (ie. don't dress in obviously faddish or outdated styles).

The Yellow Suit thing works only once and its been done, but the underlying concept remains true - you need to stand out just enough to get noticed, but not in a weird way.

For an "informal" chief pilot meet and greet out at an airport, I've been told don't plan on being dressed less formally than the person you're gonna meet. Pilots working at an airport generally wear uniform shirt/tie and often a jacket, so there's your standard.

People who have done those events may have more specific info though... I'm just repeating what career advisers have told me about informal meet and greet type events.
