That's NOT what he said!!
He said he was choosing a regional over spirit! That's just insane!
I get if you're a captain at a regional with some sort of "if all the boxes checked" type of "flow", guaranteed blah blah blah, but to GO TO A REGIONAL FO AT THE BOTTOM......
Or come to spirit...
Wow...

Hate to break it to you but right now regionals can offer more then spirit does right now. I could go make over 60k first year at almost any of the regionals. upgrade in less then 24months at almost any regional and be making as much as your 2-4 year FO's make, Even more so if i was hired as a direct entry captain somewhere.
I would love to come fly the Bus and have a DFW base but im not going to do it for peanuts. At least pay what Virgin America, Jet Blue, etc pay.

Like you say, "right now" the regionals will offer more, but what if you start class, mainline decide to shift flying and that retention bonus is gone? Don't you find it interesting that regional will pay a "bonus" as opposed to rolling the higher pay into pay rates? I'm not saying Spirit is better but I don't like the idea of how regionals are offering a "bonus" as opposed to giving a higher pay rates.

You make the best decisions with the information at hand and it's certain that Spirit pays dirtbag wages. When that changes, nobody knows.
