Guarantee for our most junior captains is about $113k so to make less you would be dropping some things for more days off and that does happen. Probably rare but I'm sure it happens.

I don't know where you get this nonsense from but this idea has been thouroulgly debunked. Many times. Having "Spirit" on your resume does not give a candidate a "bad mark".

Compared to the regionals Legacies hire less of us as a percentage simply because less of us, as a percentage, are applying to the Legacies. Most of us are here to stay, whereas at Regional X, Y or Z most are trying to get out.

Good god, get a grip. The sky isn't falling.

Well, please go sling gear at a fee for departure carrier. I would rather not deal with someone like you. I am going to laugh my rear off when we finally do get a contract though.... You can stop trolling our threads now..
Bye Bye......XOXOX

By the way, TONS of CoEx guys were leaving for this....and it wasnt THAT long ago. My how people have forgotten...Regionals DO NOT SELL THEIR OWN TICKETS!!!
one day they are the next pipeline to their attached legacy, the next day they are dog sh1t...

Good luck buddy!

And here you are, on a Spirit thread asking about our pay, when it clearly posted on the airline profile. If you already know you can make more at the regionals why ask us about our pay, if a job fair is required for and interview, or how long it takes to hold DFW? you say our pay scale is laughable, but seem so interested in the past few months, did you not see our pay rates in your research the last few months?

He asked what was a "realistic take home pay". We all know that Contractual Pay Rates often don't tell the full story. I'd applaud him for inquiring more thoroughly instead of running with all of the BS stories of mass credit as the norm.

The reality is that 1st year pay is about $28k to $33k.

I made a lot less than that. I dropped every single trip I could and basically took the first year off. I was lucky I was able to do that, but I didn't feel like it was worth my time (or the chance of getting fired on probation) to go in for $38 an hour.

Take the year off, get another job at Home Depot, bartend, or something else and enjoy your life.

He isn't wrong here, you're just mad that he blasted you. When I hear people say " oh I can't go to Spirit because the pay is so much lower " it shows me how narrow minded they are. Do you want to know why? Because we are among the last to get a contract in a whole new era of airline pay scales and not simply that we pay half as much. People who can't put two and two together and look past the next few months need a serious reality check. If you want to work in the airline industry here are a few tips

1. EDUCATE YOURSELF
2. Look past today. Don't JG Wentworth yourself and say "it's my money and I want it now". I would rather average 120k over the next few years ( after contract ) as a BUS FO at banana express than make 60k for one year and then hope for an upgrade and a legacy to call shortly after.

assuming a contract comes. I've been following the negotiations for a while and doesn't sound like much headway towards a competitive contract is being made.

If you're using APC as your fact database in following our negotiations you couldn't possibly know what's going on or where we are with our negotiations. People on this forum are no good source of info. Okay occasionally they can be, I'll give that credit, but usually not.
