HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

I get it, that first year rates are beyond horrible. Dude, I made around 85k my second year, as an FO....I maybe flew 300hrs.
Good luck at the regionals!

Yeah, Yeah, 2nd year at (insert legacy) is more than 3rd year Capt rates here. WE KNOW....

But that's not what your comparing now, is it?
Clearly a mgmt troll...hold out for a legacy

I'll keep it simple. Everybody be aware that you'll be paying for that $50,000 first year PAY CUT for years to come.

I too was sold on the idea that I would make far more than the $29,900 I made in year 1 at Spirit.
How do you think the pay at the REGIONALS is????
are your seriously thinking that going to a regional is going to hurt LESS?
A 2nd year fo at bendover makes what? 34.00/hr?

Yeah, and GOTSOAUTOTWIT or whatever your name is (I know) Some of us credited more than 72 hrs a month. Hell, my June line value was 82 hrs right out of the award. Trade a 18 hour 4day for a 22 hr 4 day, and its easy to break guarantee without really doing any "work" or "deals".

Like I said, Keep it Simple.

The massive pay cut you take at Spirit has long lasting repercussions. Don't under estimate or downplay the effect of a year at $30,000 or less. Debt accumulated isn't so easily conquered at inferior pay rates.

Yes, I made that mistake and I'll share it so that others don't.

I'm just giving the man the facts not speaking in what ifs or maybes. Guarantee is all you can count on and I gave him those numbers. Many people came to spirit with the idea that high credits and released with pay was the norm. It's the exception not the norm and they got burned when the convinced their families it was the right move.

While yes there are occasionally 82hr lines that is a number management controls and is not guaranteed. Trading an 18hr 4 day for a 22hr 4 day is also a rarity if you are junior and again, with our current horrible 4.2/1 trip rig you're pretty much going to be dealing with a lot of 18hr 4 day trips. Yes there are also a few high credit trips but for every one of those there is a 14.5hr 4 day trip that has 3 duty period and a 21hr overnight to avoid the 22hr overnight triggering an extra duty period of pay. The company doesn't want to pay soft time and to avoid that along with our current route structure you get unproductive trips.

Just the facts

Yep. The only scenario I can think of regarding accepting a job at Spirit that makes sense is coming here if you are currently unemployed. If you don't have to be here you would be better off riding it out at your regional. The pilot group at Spirit is viewed by the HR departments at the majors as belligerent scum. Do you really want that on your resume??

That's NOT what he said!!
He said he was choosing a regional over spirit! That's just insane!
I get if you're a captain at a regional with some sort of "if all the boxes checked" type of "flow", guaranteed blah blah blah, but to GO TO A REGIONAL FO AT THE BOTTOM......
Or come to spirit...

Wow...

What happens if that regional you go stop paying the retention bonus once mainline shift the flying to another company?

Guarantee is all that's guaranteed.

You might make more as lineholder trading into better trips that might exist. You might make more if you live in base and choose to work on your days off and can be available on short notice. None of that is guaranteed money.

I never told the guy not to come here and in fact I have tried to correct some posters in the past for being overly negative in their responses to new
hire inquiries. But I'm not going to be overly positive and give a guy hope that he's going to make money that is not guaranteed.

This forum is supposed to be a place to chat, shoot the poo, have fun with each other, and maybe get a little information on occasion.
