hahahaha..ok getting back to hiring questions/issues..just attended the job fair yesterday and i know a lot of guys were asking about the cognitive and personality test after they applied. The cognitive test is old. so some of you might have gotten it when they still used it. recently they switched to the gallup personality assessment. So that is why you got a new email with that recently.

There were about maybe 50 guys (and gals) there, i would say most were between ages 35-50. not sure experience, the ones i talked to were regional guys and a few part 91/135

the chief pilot in his presentation said all that remains in the negotiations is scheduling, pay, and retirement (I am not an employee so yes, i don't know the full story - just sharing what i was told yesterday) he said he thinks by august it'll be signed - again maybe just pure propaganda. but everyone can be hopeful right?

Wow 50 people? Last year we would have 250 people and the year before that you had to buy a ticket in the first hour of going on sale or you couldn't get one. August is insane on their part but maybe they are finally starting to see the writing on the wall as far as needed to attract quality applicants.

Yea, that's really low turnout. Last July there were a couple hundred at the DFW job fair, looking at both Spirit and Frontier, right after Frontier started requiring the 2 year payback contract.

That said, I have 2 very smart ex-military friends who recently opted for skywest, didn't even apply at Spirit F9 or Allegiant. Too much emotional baggage associated with those 3, might as well just build 121 hours as quickly as possible and jump straight to a Legacy, making the same or more $$$ that first year.

All that remains? Are the largest economic items out there. This thing will drag out. Of course he said otherwise, they need pilots. Don't be fooled.

Appreciate the info and good luck to you getting hired. Hope the chief pilot is right. However, correct me if I'm wrong dear readers, but even IF (&#128580 a proper deal was proffered later this month from the company to the MEC NC, it would take months of road shows to get to a vote.

Once they get a TA out ( which could be next week or 6 years from now) they give the pilots around 1 month to vote on it.

Second year pay; if you hold an average line and fly your line without picking up anything extra you will make right around $70,500 pretax including per diem. (250 TAFB per month for the average line). The math is fairly easy up or down from there. You make more by crediting above 72 hrs per month, you make less by crediting below that.

To be more accurate.. Spirit's ALPA contract has 30 sections. 9 remain to be TA'd. Not just compensation, but sections like Duration, Definitions, and Hours of Service remain open. Economic negotiations were put on hiatus for the previous week's session, but bargaining is happening all week this week. The COMPANY requested additional sessions though August, which have been granted. This is encouraging. There are no negotiating dates on the books past August. Attrition YTD is high, including pilots going to all legacies, Southwest, and Fedex. And supposedly,, training failures. We are receiving a net 17 aircraft this year, mostly 21s. There is simply no defense on the company's part to the negotiator to not cough up industry standard, except they don't wanna... Which isn't valid... Especially when the CEO can be compensated at a higher level that the CEO of SWA who runs an operation SEVEN TIMES the size of NK. Industry standard now includes $80/ hr + to start, mid $200s for junior captains, retirement DC, profit sharing, and retro pay. Hopefully a positive update will come next week.

Looks like a attempt to drag things through summer. that's it .what the company should have said is let's get this thing done next week in 5 days. I remember another time when they got it done in 5 days..
