Sold for $109M?

Isn't that $.18 on the $? Frontier is done.

The cost of the Airbuses on the market is $.52/$ And no labor issues to deal with.

I believe you are implying that Frontier was purchased by Indigo and Indigo intends on liquidated the assets.

First, the purchase price that Indigo paid was much lower than $109MM.

Second, the "$.18 on the $" reference implies that Frontier is somehow worth approximately a little over $500MM. Frontier has no market value today.

Third, the "cost of the Airbuses on the market is $.52/$" reference is illogical. Do you know how much Frontier paid for each individual airbus. Do you know how many airbuses Frontier owns vs leases?

Frontier harvested any remaining aircraft equity back in 2008-2009. Our CFO actually called the aircraft equity an "untapped piggy bank". Yes, he was a total idiot.

There is no resale value of Frontier today. Indigo is not in the aircraft sales business. Indigo would not have spent almost a year in negotiations with RAH and Barclays and Airbus NA and labor and other investors if all they wanted to do was host a fire sale.

You are correct Indigo is in the business of turning airlines around and making money on the ipo. My take is this will be good for the Frontier pilots in the fact there jobs will be spared and will probably see a good contract after a long hard fight but prepare to be gutted like a fish. I'm not sure if those paint jobs are cheap or not but I could see those animal pic going bye bye. Those nice interiors will be gone. Those TV s will come out with the wifi as we'll and your customer service is history. I'm currently a Spirit pilot and I will tell you the pax don't care they just want a cheap ticket. I personally think Frontier might even shrink before it starts to grow but we will see and get ready to fly all night long baby while the plane utilization goes to 12.5 a day. Indigo knows this plan works already so you can bet your ass whatever Spirit went through Frontier will soon experience themselves . Just glad to see you f9 guys on your way to better roads.

Thanks for your perspective. It is nice to hear from somebody that has lived through it. I also think greener pastures are on the horizon for F9 from the current mess we have been in with RAH and the IBT.

Congrats to those that have been hired at Frontier. I have an interview in a few weeks. Wondering if anyone who is currently in the Sept class could give us an update on how it is going. Just trying to make an informed decision if I am actually offered a class, as I have a good stable pt 135 gig right know.

Another Spirit pilot here. Just remember, Franke pushed us to a 5-day strike hoping we would break. He is a union and a ball buster. It will not be easy for you guys. Expect abuse, some pain and suffering and many low punches. The guy is smart and ruthless. Frontier pilots must unify and stay strong. Expect lots-of-redeye, flip-flopping, quick turn, high utilization flying. Hopefully FAR 117 will help somewhat. Good luck!

Still sounds like a better deal than dealing with the Toonsters.

How about we try and turn this thread into something useful?

I pose a question to any Spirit pilots who have been at Spirit since the strike:

What did you guys learn, what did you wish you knew or did back then? What did you guys do right and what didn't you?

As a Frontier pilot, I want our pilot group to be as well prepared to deal with whatever Franke has in store for us. I'm looking ahead here. RAH is going to be in the past, and Franke is the future. What can Frontier pilots do to ensure we end up with the best possible work conditions under Franke???

Franke is just a regular human being just like you and me. The best thing to do with a man like Franke is not to be weak. If you think you and your services are worth $75/k a year , than Franke will try to pay you $40K/year. Your pilot group needs to be strong and know that they are worth every bit more than what they are getting paid. Its Franke's job to exploit you.
