Let’s be careful what we wish for...I don’t buy into the hysteria but there is a reasonable chance the “luck” you speak of will not be good luck for us, or for this industry

I dont believe 9E or Delta can slow their hiring because they are behind the the curve as it is. This virus is temporary and life will be back to normal before you know it.

Except for 18 planes (and shrinking), isn't that already happening?
So outside of those 18 planes skywest would have to shrink or the west would have to grow for you to see a noticeable change to the skywest presence out east. It could happen, change happens all the time but it wouldn't happen in a vacuum out side of those 18.

The plan is to reduce the overlap of the regionals. It doesn’t work well when they are spread to thin. It’s about having your resources close by so you can use them when needed

How does reporting things we've heard make us company plants. You know what's fun, two things can actually be true at the same time. Weird right? Maybe the plan is to add more 200's AND we're understaffed. Shocking I know, but sometimes businesses make plans to do things even when they aren't in a position to do them. I'm told they're called "Goals".

Sarcasm aside, they will have to do much much more to add those new aircraft, and I suspect it's coming. Upping the new hire bonus is in the wind, and believe it or not I'm hearing wispers of retention bonuses maybe coming back. Time will tell.

He's referring to the fleet guarantee. We're over the guarantee and a lot of the fleet can be shifted away from us with no recourse. The MEC chairman mentioned this is the first podcast he put out a few weeks ago.
