Not a FedEx guy, but I have a pension at a different airline. You can't just bump up the annual compensation limit. That number and many others are tweaked by the IRS annually. It is actually $265,000 for 2015.

Yes, but I believe that only impacts company tax breaks. It can be higher just the tax implications are different. For example our 260k limit has been in place since the limit was less than 260k. It would be nice to keep the max at or above current IRS limits.

That is not correct. I may be misinformed but I recall that UPS pilots have a limit of $300,000 set a good number of years ago. Jeb Bush has been contributing $350,000 a year into his pension plan. In the case of the FDX Pilots pension the $260,000 was put in for the first contract in 1998. If that date is correct today the number should be over $380,000 in 2015.

I suggest everyone read the book Retirement Heist to start to understand what has happened to the pensions. You will be asking yourself "How can that be Legal?". Retirement Heist - Pension Fraud Book - Ellen Schultz

It's good to see that FH received his semi-annual Inflation Calculator software update.

It's good to hear from you GC, I've been worried about your "butterfly shoulder."

you are just slightly off, the UPS has a limit on the A plan of the LESSOR of, the IRS limits or to a MAX of $300,000.

UPS A plan is 1% a year ( max 30% ) of IRS limits or $300,000 FAE whichever is the least.

Option 2 is a flat rate benefit of $3,000 a year max of 30 years. (Established in 2006 with no increases.) ( Capt $3,000 First Officer $2,400 Flight Engineer $2,100 )

30 years A plan 265,000 x .3 = $79,500
30 years Flat rate 30 x 3,000 = $90,000

Quote: What you need to know about UPS' A plan is that theirs is tied in with their management's pension and cannot be terminated without canceling management's pension to, and you know that's not going to happen. Unlike ours which is at risk in a potential future BK in an 1113 motion.
That is not a problem. To file a 1113 motion the company is required to first "bargain in good faith" with the union and we know that will never happen

And, does your momma know you are in the basement posting trash online again instead of outside mowing the lawn like she told you to do?

Idk who you are referring to when you say "ours" with DHL in your profile pic. I do know for certain 100% the fedex pilots and management pension are one in the same pool of money. My BIL manages one of the funds for Fedex.
