posted on the AAY facebook page, inaugural flight for service between FNT and PIE. I think it was an MD83, N891GA maybe. 30 year old aircraft, arrived just about on time. Aircraft's first flight was in May 1986. Previous owner/operators were SAS, Compass Air and Reno Air.

SFB 80 Upgrades in class now are from 12/13 & 1/14 new-hire classes; so, just a little over 2 years. HOWEVER...there are a ton of local FOs that will upgrade ahead of you. Barring significant base growth, I foresee SFB upgrade times not being too favorable. SFB will be the last East Coast Base to transition to Airbus, and it is currently one of the senior AB bases. That, & the fact those fellas are now bearing the brunt of TDY's, SFB AB CA isn't that desirable a position for a Jr guy, even IF he could hold it. We'll all transition once the 80s are gone.

If you want to live in Orlando, plan on being in the right seat of the AB or 80 for some time...you're on the back-side of the wave, sorry to say. You could always upgrade to the "homeless base," but they're getting the screws put to them with hotel points evaporating, & rental cars & rental gas being highly scrutinized by desk jockeys in LAS that haven't a clue about the hardships of roadie life!! 😡

AVL for one. Had that fight a few days ago. Talked to the manager and he said it was a new policy. We stay at a Marriott property in AVL and looks like all the Marriotts will stop giving us points according to him

If Orlando is your goal and you’re north of say 35 years old, you might stand a good chance of scoring an Airbus out of indoc. Although I hear the next class coming up will be all MD80s like the current one is, ouch. Come hear and maybe score a Bus type and sell it to JetBlue or Frontier, both have solid contracts and an MCO base. Spirit has a contract and at least an FLL base. All of these carriers can put you in Florida and generally have a pretty good east coast presence. If you didn't get MCO or FLL commuting is doable; I believe Frontier has a long call reserve provision in their contract. Something that will never happen at Allegiant.

If you come here now you will indeed be on the wrong side of this wave. Being perpetually junior and yanked all over florida by screw services, not being home almost every night. Could get worse, Allegiant is currently under certificate review by the FAA for obvious reasons. If they uncover criminally falsified stuff and other forms of malpractice, which is possible at G4 and the media keeps turning up the heat. Allegiant will be facing what happened to the training department a couple of years ago; it got shut down for a couple of months. That happens and you are new on property, look out below.

To add to that, we won't likely get a contract any time soon. We are too far apart from the company to reach an agreement. I'm 99.9% sure it will take a strike to get a contract. Since they recently TA'd low hanging fruit in negotiations, I expect the company can drag this process out for at least another year or two.

If you come here, get your free type and move on as fast as you can. I have serious reservations about the long term prospects of Allegiant.

Sage advice. House of cards, fast buck scheme. Read the tea leaves: The most profitable airline in the US in 2015, G4 is the only ULCC buying trashed out old Airbii. Allegiant can easily afford newer (reliable) aircraft but doesn't. Why? Quite simple: buy 60,000 hour junk, maintain it with cheap, outsourced maintenance and entry level (low wage) mechanics, then cash out.

Same business philosophy with the 757s: burn them out, when the bill comes due (2017, C checks), dump 'em.

These principles also apply to employees.

Want a seat on the Airbus and to live in FL? JB and Spirit (and AA) are hiring. You guys have other options...

If things were truthfully as bad as what has been described in this thread, why haven't you guys left? Don't give me the excuse nobody will hire you cause according to everyone here the free type rating is a golden ticket to JetBlue/Frontier/Spirit/whoever else. And if not, regionals are better than what has been described here so why not go there?

I think this thread is full of nonsense and there's nothing to see here. My advice if you're aiming for Allegiant don't let this thread deter you. And don't think I'm saying Allegiant is problem free because nobody is. But I find this thread to be misleading.

I don't think any "Aims for Allegiant". Funny statement.
