At least they told you that it is a recording. I did this for a foreign airline a couple of years ago where they called it an "Online Interview" but infact it turned out to be a recording.
It is something when you're all churched up, click the link and there is no one on the other side except a timer that says you have one minute to video record a TMAT type question. The best part, there are no second chances, so be ready!
My bewildered look was all they got to see, lol.

I personally think it's a terrible way to screen applicants. There is no feedback from the opposite end as in an actual online interview on skype or even a traditional phone interview. Not everyone is apt to provide the best recording to sell themselves. But, it's the new era, still not sure, if this beats writing an essay!!!
