I just saw that out there and was shaking my head, amazed again how the wastefulness of this company has no bounds. They literally waste millions of dollars every day out of stupidity. They waste millions on fuel by pis sing off the pilots, they waste millions on cancellations, delays, rebookings, hotels, lost baggage due to going cheap on employees and trying to have 1 person do 3 peoples jobs to save $30/hr. They waste millions on lost customers for life due to poor customer service and poor product. Grouchy old employee's who are unfriendly and rude. Or having passengers miss their connection to a cruise ship or a wedding due to being parked at at the gate with no jet bridge driver for 40 minutes because they are too cheap to pay $12/hr for another person to do the job properly. They waste millions shipping E145's off to PDT and starting a whole new program when they are already here, with current and qualified pilots. They waste millions in un-productivity, lazyness and just not caring of employees by treating their employee's like crap and threatening them instead of valuing them and treating them as an asset. They continue to waste money outsourcing to RAH who just cancels thousands of their flights due to staffing. They waste god knows how much on printing miles and miles of paper for everything every day on thousands of flights, not to mention AA is probably responsible for wiping out an entire rainforest due to all the paper waste. Should have gone electronic for everything YEARS ago. I could go on for hours on all the waste I see every single day. It's sickening. Someone competent could save AAG over a billion a year and make the employee's happy at the same time.
I have seen estimates on those paint jobs at between 50K to 150K each including materials and labor costs. Then Straight to the desert to be retired, yet they refuse to pay a reasonable wage to regional FO's.
