Quote: Are most people happy? Seems like the FedEx peeps are happier, at least on the forums.
Are you really going to base your opinion on the postings of anonymous people?

No doubt UPS has a corporate culture that is more confrontational with labor than need be. With that said nearly everyone on the line is appreciative of their position. We had 2 guys leave for FedEx 5 or so years ago. Not a single person has left for any pax carrier in the last dozen years.

No PBS, we have an A plan, and we seem to be on the upswing. Checks don't bounce and we are seeing seat movement.

They were on furlough from UPS, so not a tough decision.

I'm happy at UPS. They have provided my family and I a good if not a great quality of life. With that being said, we still have a lot of work to do here to improve many areas.

Actually I think it was four (one might have still been on property but in the 170) and one didn't make it through IOE.

Am I the only one who feels this is strange. That only these folks have a say in who hires a unionized line pilot[/QUOTE]

They don't even get much say. It's HR.

Quick question, I just completed the UPS app and was told they were reviewing other applications. My app says, "on file" and not "active". Does this mean they aren't even reviewing my app?

I'm scratching my head trying to figure out what's going on, what I did wrong.

I checked all the good boxes and didn't check any bad ones.

11,000 hour B-767 Captain at Atlas. Been a Captain on 7 different jets with no accidents, incidents or violations. Never failed a checkride in my life, current and qualified.

Really bummed out, I wish they would at least give me the opportunity to fail the Hogan.

If anyone has any intel that could help me out, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

In this day of computers, I wonder if anyone really reviews anything at all. Try the meet and greet job fair thing to make a distinction for yourself if you don't know anyone that can walk something in.

Good luck

Thanks 76. I apologize, I should have looked at the other UPS threads, there's a whole thread on this issue. Looks like I'm not the only one to run into this. Just read a post from a fighter IP with a masters that got the same response.

Thanks for your response.

There have been quite a few hired from Atlas lately. Anyone you know that would write a rec?

Anyone from a previous airline?

I agree you will have to go to a job fair to tilt the scales without a letter.

Dude... Im bummed out for you, geesh. You sound like the average guy in my class, and it doesn't seem plausible a computer system would dunk you so quick.

Do you have a four-year degree?
