That's fair. I think it's probably much more of a concern for the regionals who only contract with one major, but certainly worthy of consideration. Other factors are more important to me personally, but I can certainly see how that might be decisive for someone.

LCAs can get there too, but now we're back to talking about money. If your goal is to have the biggest numbers in your bank accounts when you die, then the majors are almost always the way to go. The problem is that according to psychological studies, that extra money, the boats, the second and third home, etc, don't actually equate or contribute to increased happiness. Ninerdriver's point about job security is valid, but if you want to have the most happiness, you have to stop your chase for the most dollar signs.
