Things are changing monthly. If you read back in comments you'll see that mentioned by myself and others often. In the next month or so I think new hires will have their pick of bases out of training, at least on the CRJ, besides TUS and DTW.

DFW is overstaffed and awaiting much talked about growth. When it comes or doesn't..... Is anyone's guess

Moving target, but the Skywest pilot careers page has seniority by base that's updated monthly. There's monthly bids, so you'll get it as soon as you can hold it on the CRJ. I got my preferred domicile (ORD) last month while still on IOE. With the majors hiring our CAs and FOs like crazy, movement to any base in the right seat shouldn't be long.

Default Parking

Does the company pay for airport parking if you're commuting or is it only if you are based at that airport?

Default Waitlist

Does anyone have any information or know of anyone getting off the waitlist and put into an earlier class? Particularly the ERJ side.

You get $50/month for parking as a commuter.

Default SkyWest Class Preparation

I was given a class date in January. Looking for any advice on how to get a leg up on training. I have the CRJ 200 checklists, memory items from Flight Safety and profiles from Contour. Will memorizing these help me.

No. Biggest piece of advice is come in instrument proficient. OO isn't going to teach you that. Don't memorize anything you don't get from OO.

This. Study the Instrument Procedures Handbook. Know how SIDs and STARs and "Climb/Descend Via" works. Know the differences between the various flavors of GPS approaches. Get familiar with the stuff pertaining to Part 121 ops. Study Jepp charts so you're not hunting for stuff on them when you start using.them.
