Probably a pipe dream but it 100% should be an option for our pilot group. We are the largest regional airline doing the bulk of the flying for each one of our major partners. Why should we not be offered some kind of career progression?

The guaranteed interview ship being worth anything has sailed, everyone will have a guaranteed interview by next year. You look a lot better on paper at an LCC by your career destination anyways. If you’re a CA at OO, you should have your app out everywhere, including Sun Country now. You have the upgrade on the resume, now move on. Also why would SWA encourage the regional model surviving by participating in such a program. If anything SWA would buy out SkyWest which would completely screw over OO partners, which just so happens to be their competitors. It won’t happen but I’d love to see something dramatic happen in the industry.

flow programs = career stagnation for all.

No. Tell that to the captains I fly with on a regular basis that for one reason or another they are not getting a call. If you can do so, there is nothing stopping you from going somewhere else before you flow or before you hit a hypothetical interview benchmark.

In todays hiring environment you can get to a major relatively quick if you have kept your nose clean but as we all know that can change quickly. A flow is a guaranteed backup plan which we should all have.

Which airframe? Wondering how long of a wait for IOE on the ERJ.

And what are people doing while they wait? All the observation flights their hearts desire?

Don't complain yet, just enjoy the last holiday off you'll have for the foreseeable future.
