I predict tons of negativity… Thats how OO seems to roll… or so the 10% vocal people run it.. heck only 20% of people even vote on sapa rep elections..

I can’t believe they presented this TA with a straight face. We’re losing pilot profit sharing and half the captain bonus while being told this a raise. They’re just taking with one hand to give with the other.
If you’re considering coming to skywest as an FO, look elsewhere. |

I had pretty low expectations. But this didn’t meet them.

Where do you recommend a 1500 hr CFI go? Endeavor is 52, Republic is 46, Mesa is 36, GoJet will be closed in 6 months or less. AA WO are not hiring 1500 CFI’s. That leaves Air Wisconsin and CommutAir. It won’t be much longer before CommutAir stops hiring 1500 CFI’s.

Start at $60 and goes to $70. Unless you put a upgrade bid in then at 750hrs you go to $144hr.. If you come over from another regional you basically can get that $144hr if you bring 121 time.. The rest is about the normal. More perdiem. No change to trip rigs. Cheaper health care.. first glance they really went after the 1-4 year FO’s and the 7-13 year Captains.. thats the choke point of people leaving. And thats the target audience.

I know most people want more QOL, but for me it was all about the pay scale; honestly, I was hoping for more. The per diem being used as a bargaining chip to take away bonuses was asinine! Our pd went up 7.5% and we haven’t had it raised since 2018, this falls way behind COL increases by itself, and now we lose bonuses too? Pd will be locked in for 4 more years to come also.
I’m not a hard ‘no’, simply because I know that this will always be a regional airline. If I am afforded the opportunity to move on I will. I might vote ‘yes’ just for the sake of taking what we can get versus waiting another 6 months to get who-knows-what. |

May I ask when you interviewed? |

KV Bust
Hey everyone -
I ended up busting my KV (I’m on the ERJ side). Pretty bummed about it as I was one question away from passing according to my APD, but it is what it is. I successfully got retrained and signed off to try again. Unfortunately a large number of folks are busting the KV, I’ve been told the number is substantial, around half. Not sure how true that is, but for some unscientific data, about half the classmates I talked to got an unsat unfortunately. I unfortunately also have two primary training failures, along with this KV bust. How screwed am I for my career in the future? My end goal is United (realistically any legacy but United would be the best in my opinion), and I’m sure this means I’ll have a tougher time moving on. Does anyone have any advice on moving forward from this? I understand we have the GPI program, would that help me out or can I still move forward after a while by going through a ULCC? Finally, does this count as a checkride failure for the purpose of any internal positions (like the training department)? If I stuck around, built experience, and felt ready, I wouldn’t mind becoming a check airman if that helps my resume. Would this be a disqualifying factor? Thanks everyone! |
