This holds water. Looking at the flights out of Phx the Envoy 175s are replacing Mesa legs and not SKW legs. I think AA had to do this as both Skywest and Mesa are bleeding pilots. Even if rates stop attrition it’ll take months in training to catch up for either airline. I looked at places like SBA and MRY in December. Mesa is still flying legs that allow connection to the DFW flying that they do.

Not sure how many more are coming. I think we just got one new one and I am not sure if that completes the contract.

Newest one is N521SY.

If I had to guess I would say no more. Envoy 175 is growing while they get rid of the 145. Pushing west to

Appreciate the response. Might be wrong but Phx is around the 5th largest city behind nyc, lax, ord, iah.. you’d think we would try harder to fend off people moving west 😔

this is indeed interesting but really more a function of how city boundaries are drawn vs. larger metropolitan areas. Notice how major airline hubs are missing/ranked like ATL, SFO or DFW. Austin is also advancing to more of a focus city than Phoenix or San Antonio

To your point, “metro areas” are a more meaningful gauge.

1. New York-Newark-Jersey City, NY-NJ-PA 19,261,570
2. Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim, CA 13,211,027
3. Chicago-Naperville-Elgin, IL-IN-WI 9,478,801
4. Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX 7,451,858
5. Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land, TX 6,979,613
6. Washington-Arlington-Alexandria, DC-VA-MD-WV 6,250,309
7. Miami-Fort Lauderdale-Pompano Beach, FL 6,129,858
8. Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, PA-NJ-DE-MD 6,092,403
9. Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Alpharetta, GA 5,947,008
10. Phoenix-Mesa-Chandler, AZ 4,860,338
