Curious how quickly could an FO hold ATL? Is it more likely that a new hire would end up in DTW?

Thanks for any insight

Is Skywest still looking for captains?

It is not hard to understand why Skywest is short off pilots. They told a friend of mine who is a check airman and has been living and flying abroad for quite a few years, but flew with an airline in the US before and still did fly into all big US airports on wide bodies that he can’t apply for the left seat in Skywest due to having built his hours outside the USA. And they told him to apply for the first officers position. He didn’t really need the job and only was interested in Skywest due to the location he could be based at as he wanted to return to the US and just wanted to enjoy himself. The right seat was a bit too much for that for him at a regional though. So he let it pass Which I can understand looking at his experience and situation.
I mean, how can they say they are short of pilots if they turn down people who meet their requirements 10 times? I was amazed.

If he doesn't have 1000 hours flying for a USA based 121 carrier (or the allowable 135 or Fractional experience), then he doesn't meet the FAA regulations for the left seat and is legally not allowed go direct to the left seat. Has nothing to do with what SkyWest "wants"

Is there anyone here that is part of the hiring team or have info about them?

I've been waiting a few weeks for a hiring decision from Skywest. I interviewed on Oct 25th for an FO position. I am eligible for an unrestricted ATP and had positive comments from the captain that interviewed me.
He said I should have an answer within a couple weeks from the company. This was echoed shortly later by my recruiter. It's coming up on a month now and no response (good or bad) and I have not been able to get in touch with the recruiter. Has anyone else had issues like this for so long on just getting answer?
I get they are busy and swamped with hiring but this just seems a bit much when I cannot even find anyone to give me an answer.

I have a class start date in March with Endeavor. SkyWest was my first choice but it is looking like Endeavor may be the better option.

I interviewed November 7th. Talked to many friends who had heard back in 3 days to a week and a half tops. I haven’t heard anything.

After multiple emails and calls to my recruiter I finally got one back and it said they are still waiting on a final decision from the Pilot Review Board. Not sure what that means, but it’s the first response I’ve gotten.

I had emailed my interviewer last week and he told me all he could say is be patient and it’s most likely a good thing I haven’t heard. If it was a no they would have said something by now.

Well not sure if it is progress or not, but had a small update. I got sent an auto email thanking me for the interview (which was 5 weeks ago) and then filing out a pilot survey on why SkyWest and other HR questions.
Maybe it means I was moved from post-interview bin to the other.
No other response back though.

Everybody I know that's applied, or have a class date got that email, so think it's just a mass email. FWIW, I interviewed around 5 weeks ago, sent a follow up a week later, and got a CJO with my pick between Jan-May for a ERJ class.

My buddy who has a start date got that same email. I just got it yesterday too but I’m still waiting for a job offer after about 4 weeks. I just plan on emailing about once a week and see if something comes up.
