They're probably waiting for one of the union carriers to write the letter and then SAPA will just "me too" it like they do with everything else in the industry.

Republic guy here. It’s a shame that OO and YX are considered other airline pilots in the eyes of united, considering our two regionals are consistently the top performers. Not to mention the two largest...
United and UAX preferred pilots will be affected coast to coast, kind of like we will be now, along with Mesa. I really hope Republic, Skywest, and Mesa pilots stick together on this and force some real change. It’s ridiculous how United is treating it’s largest partners.

On Delta - Endeavor gets priority
On American - Envoy, Piedmont and PSA get priority.
United = was not aligned with the others. So Skywest and Republic won't be giving anyone a ride?

As opposed to the what’s happening now...which is SkyWest CAs being TOLD to deny certain people, which is ALSO a case of CAs not controlling the jumpseat.

Everyone should take a break, because this can end up much worse then just about Jumpseat's. If you don’t think you can lose your job over a FB post, you would be very wrong. HR cares about perception, and social media screen shots can certainly get you fired or sued. Exactly the reason I don’t post anything on a closed group, I wouldn’t post on a open group. For the record I wouldn’t forward anything to anyone, but I guarantee this will result in some unintended results.

Don't you guys get benefits on ALL THREE US Carriers?! The exclusive carriers do not get that perk. Either way, its not my fault United changed that rule... why would you punish me? When I do become captain I would NEVER turn a pilot down for a ride home now matter what.. regardless of politics. How sad that some pilots would do that. I hope all ExpressJet captains still give Skywest and Republic pilots rides home. I hope i never witness anyone stoop down to such a low level to punish those who do not make the rules.

Personally a blanket JS denial is improper in this situation. We should just reciprocate the exact same priority I.e. OAL. I suspect that’s where this will end up anyways. BTW your JS chairman letter is wrong. You certainly can JS on DL or AA flight operated by Republic.

I think they are likely trying to figure out how to pay for the lawsuits that pilots will file against them for wrecking the careers of many.

It’s on. Jumpseat war is a go. SAPA went ahead and committed career suicide for the Skywest pilot group. Thanks SAPA

And it is up to him/her to deal with any repercussions. With all of the hiring that is going to be happening in the near future, I’d pick my battles carefully. Skywest doesn’t have a union. Any directive from their association carries no weight. The captain only controls the jumpseat. Unless the flight is full, use a vacation pass and sit in the back knowing that the captain is powerless to deny boarding except for safety reasons.
