I’m a near upgrade FO who chose a LCC rather then upgrade into CCs ****ty CA QOL regional model.

I fear someday soon the pendulum swings back CCs way. Hopefully huge strides are made for regional pilot pay and QOL before that happens. This 135 plan is about beating back those strides.

I assume they thought about the liability they are taking on. A Colgan type mishap could be the end of SKYW.

That's one of the big reasons I left, they were starting to have near-misses and I was concerned about the future. I'm guessing OO could absorb one at-fault smoking hole in this climate. But not two.

I sincerely hope management strikes the right balance.

Naming it anything but SkyWest Junior Varsity may have been a good idea.

Default Skywest Charter update

From Edward Russell, editor of Airline Weekly: The DOT has requested additional information from SkyWest in the certification of its new Part 135 subsidiary, SkyWest Charter. These requests are common, and this mostly focuses on the background of some management staff.
