SkyWest Pay

Down? No I don't think they will go down at all. I think we will see rate increases, maybe not as high as some of us would like, but I think we will see increases, not decreases.

my take, for the industry generally, nothing specific to SW, will be a bi/tri-furcation
1) FO wages will reflect supply >> demand
2) captain wages will be be strong
3) LCA wages will continue on par with the majors
FO's are really a renewable resource and the company is doing then a favor with every hour accrued. At the other end, LCA's are a precious commodity that command career wages. Captains are in-between

And actual pay-scale cuts are not required, as long as the government cooperates by driving inflation through the roof (at least periodically) regionals can just dig in their heels and let the real value of wages decline over time, as needed.
And there's a good chance that training CA gigs will remain lucrative, as you say precious commodity. That was apparent even when I left, I had to decide whether I wanted to be an line pilot at the majors, or settle into career of 20 days in the sim for comparable pay.

CA scale is the same…
EDV. Captain Year 1-154$, Y2-157$ Y3-159$ Y20-222$
Envoy Captain Year1-157$ Y2-161$ Y3 165$ Y20-225$
Not the same, SKYW is behind all the way, lets see them raise the bar...

Skywest pilots do whatever Skywest managment tells them to do. If they cut their pay, there's nothing the pilots can do except quit.
They don't have any legal protections....... yet.
