Whats your point? I said it's near the top. It is. Xjt is higher because of an additional match based on longevity (according to APC). Eagle is near the same. ASA is worse. Republic is worse. So are a half dozen smaller operators. My post is accurate. Are their faults, sure. Needs improvement? Sure. But it's not in the bottom 2/3 of companies.

My point was as stated... At 6%, our match is less than 1/2 of the match paid to a subsidiary of Skywest Inc. LOTS of room for improvement, and no one ever said it was in the bottom 2/3. Seeing as Skywest is the largest regional in the world, one would expect a "world class" match at least very near or equal to that of our subsidiary, not less than 1/2!
Did that get my "point" across?

It's not awful for a private company, but that's not saying much...public sector employers generally do better than private. I have a family member who is always complaining that she's under paid at her public non-profit job, but then I remind her about the 25% tax-free contribution to her retirement account. Yes 25% and that's not a match. That's 25% of base pay...30 years of that might leave you enough to actually retire on.

So what do you want to hear? Because it sounds like you only want to accept confirmation in what you already believe. Stand by what ever you like, but the reality is you have no facts to back up your beliefs. You don't get what you deserve, your union brother and sisters have actually given you what you currently have and you are just riding everyone elsewhere coat tails. What match do you get on your 401k, what are your insurance premiums and what is your yearly take home? Don't give the best you can get, give your actual.

Skywest is not a privately held company. If you meant private sector, it makes more sense. Either way it sounds like you really don't want to accept the fact that skywest is not as awesome as you think. You are selling your self short by believing your near the top. Your take home pay may be, but not your over all compensation package. My last post I asked how long it takes to get the 6 percent match, but my phone added some extra text? Still have not heard an answer? Skywest IS the most efficient regional due to economies of scale, so you are entitled to a higher compensation. Do all of us a favor and ignore fox news, and imagine that helping the top 2 percent of the people in this country get richer is not in your best interest. PLEASE!
You don't get the 6% match until you've been there over 10 years...

But I'm not saying it's great, I'm saying that it sucks just like most other private sector companies. Not sure where you got the "awesome" part...that's not even close to what I said.
It's ten years to 6%.
And fox news? Huh? What the hell are you talking about? Where do you get off lecturing me about finances? I'm probably a lot closer to that 2% than you realize, so maybe it IS in my best interest. Thanks for pointing that out.
