Not to mention static flightdeck displays in the classroom

There is also a static trainer and a computer in a room at the Candlewood where you'll be staying during training. They've upgraded the rooms at the hotel in the last year, so it's much nicer than it used to be, though you should still expect to have a roommate. Don't destroy the room with the couch and the x-box and free snacks, please. The Candlewood tries to take care of us, so don't dork it up.

What do you guys think about Chip and gang believing the new standard in contracts is like Mesa's and Endeavor's? Sounds like negotiations may be a little rough

Posturing as usual. Management thinks the standard is mesa, gohjets, endeavor. Pilots think it's FDX.

Of course in the regional world if your costs are higher than the competition, the pigeons can come home to roost much, much sooner like in a couple of years.

Us EMB guys usually get stuck at the Comfort Suites instead of the Candlewood. I prefer the Candlewood, because of the full kitchen and laundry facility. The comfort has a hot breakfast, but it gets old really fast. In Fresno the Holiday Inn is okay but by nothing, they will haul you around town. The Long Beach hotel is really nice with a great breakfast and free dinner with beer and wine at night. You can also walk to lots of eateries and bars, or take the bus downtown.

Maybe I grew up in a totally different generation but going a month without a laptop would just about make me go insane. I envy you people who can do it.

They give you a CD with all of the systems powerpoints from class and a flow trainer on it. Having a laptop would be seriously helpful. I did a lot of studying from those powerpoints and mostly learned the flows using that CD.

The systems test is made from the powerpoints, not from the systems book. John basically told us the first day not to use the book because it's outdated.

Does the software work on Mac? also do they have a bunch of books to carry back and forth to class everyday? Wondering home much room I need to make in my flight case.

The software does work on a mac, you will get a pile of binders. That being said you only have to take the indoc one during indoc week. Then during systems you only have to take the SkyWest made one that has the home work. I have rarely looked at the EMBRAER provided manual.

And you keep all those throughout training or do you return some? About a flight case and small duffel bags worth to lug them all at once if needed? What do y'all recommend?
