Oh, that's a tough one.... commuting to east coast for something certain vs taking a second shot for a chance to live near base.......you said the only thing you didn't do well was the SIM session right?

GoJet is a bad airline when compared to SkyWest (moral, culture, pay, prestige, etc.) but when compared to Mesa, TSA and several others it's par for the course. You won’t find me bashing GoJet pilots but some will. My advice, take the job and you can always come back and interview later but don't wait for something that has no guarantee…… bird in hand…. Once you have an offer from SkyWest then you have a decision to make but until then you have to go with what's been offered. The quicker you step up to the regional world the quicker you’re step out to the Majors.

Also I’d look at Compass if I were you! They'll be replacing A LOT of their pilots over the next 2-3 years with their flow.

Good luck!

It would be quite comical to get hired just by showing up with a suitcase. If you can get it on video sell it to 60 minutes, I bet they’d run it as their next regional airline bashing special!
Show up in your brand spanking new Airways uniform, then get the job at MAG!

You know what would be fascinating? An infographic showing pilot movement into and out of various airlines, over time. So you could see things like 'average employment length of an FO at OO' or 'average number of regionals worked at by a pilot until mainline hire', and so on. It'd be a huge data exercise but fascinating to see.

That would be impossible just because those numbers change so dramatically over time. Average employment length has both been higher and lower at points in history than it is now. Number of regionals worked at was probably a lot higher in 2002 and 2008 when all of them were furloughing. Since no regionals will probably furlough this year people hired now may be sticking with one.

Two people book a flight on Mainliner ABC. Pax #1 gets an FO who was just hired and was previously a Line Check CA and had all the credentials because the trip was from ORD-LAX. Pax #2 will be flying from PHX-YUM and will be getting a FO who was previously turned down after an interview or washed out because he couldn't get past the systems exam.

Are you saying there are no pilots at any major who have failed a systems exam or been turned down after an interview?
