Yup, and the reason EVERY regional FO isn't a captain at a major is because they all fail checkrides and wash out of training. Don't you know that pilots are born into the cockpits of the majors, with tens of thousands of hours of experience? Regionals just get the leftovers.

It's gotta be trespassing. Pretty bold though.

No Skywest pilot would kid about that. They're full of prestige.

Prestige: Reputation or influence arising from success, achievement, rank, or other favorable attributes.

SkyWest has over 42 years of continued success and achievement; this is undeniable by anyone with half a brain. Try to take a look at the airline from a business stand point and then look at it as a SkyWest insider (which if you’re not one you can’t). They have created the MOST profitable subcontractor in our industries history and by far the most stable subcontractor as one can be. Call them the fastest kid at the Special Olympics if you will. They do what they can while maintaining a balance and they do it better than anyone else. I possess two business degrees and years of business experience, I applaud them for what they've been able to do and in 20 years when they continue to maintain a viable business I will applaud them then as well. Also if you want to talk about their mistakes, sure they have many but nowhere near as many as others. No one’s perfect, definitely not you or I, and I'm certain if you look back over your life you'll find plenty of skeletons in your closet.

I am thankful for SkyWest and all the opportunities they’ve given me and I am extremely thankful for their help and understanding over the past several years when it comes to my wife’s medical issues. They have gone above and beyond in helping me when I needed time off or needed to get home (positive spacing). If you had to deal with my home issues and had a company who truly believes that FAMILY COMES FIRST then you too would sound like me. Every time I’ve need to run home I always hear these words, “how can we help” and “you go home, take care of your wife, we’ll take care of the airline.” Yes I enjoy working for SkyWest and I do whatever I can to return the favor. I don’t call that Kool-Aid drinking, I call that being a man with ethics, morals and values. Something you obviously know nothing about.

I will say I've had a couple of issues where they could easily have pulled the "rules are rules card", but instead they did the right thing. For a big company, they usually do show some compassion when it counts.

Because of all they have done for me, attacking me over my positive attitude when it comes to SkyWest is no different than attacking my wife. Now I understand I probably won't have this level of understand from my airline once I move on to Airways and for that I will miss working at SkyWest.

Attacking SKW, which I didn't do, is like attacking your wife? This is a new kind of crazy!

Maybe SKW should put this post on their recruiting page online or hand it out at recruiting events.
With that said, I don't know what the situation is with your wife and that's great they've been so amazing. So had my airline with my personal life.
I just think SKW pilots who started their airline careers there have no idea what it's like outside of SKW. They've been sheltered and that's ok. It just makes me laugh when someone says their regional airline is prestigious, more stable, etc.

Five current partners, 335 aircraft, 1900 daily flights, flying to more US destinations than any other airline in the world, IROPS recovery that makes the majors do a double take, $700M in the bank, 600 aircraft on order. Show me another regional doing this well.
