Have you been to Hawaii lately? Island Air hasn't operated Q400s since about 2006, when the Go! circus started. Don't expect them to operated on the mainland. They had ambitions to operated in Kansas, picking up Air Midwest routes, but decided against it, not sure all the reasons why. I wouldn't place Island as a real competitor for mainland Dash flying.

Airline Pilot Central - Island Air | Regional

Everyone's a competitor, as far as IA I was using their Q4 rates. ASA's has ATR rates even though they don't operate the ATR anymore, regardless they are a competitor.................of sorts.

""""""""First, 45 a/c equates to no more than 225 CA’s and 225 FO’s (5 crews or 10 total pilots per a/c) and 2% more in pilot pay will not affect the outcome of this RFP. 2% more in pilot pay doesn’t increase our cost by 2%, remember that there are so many other factors that go into the Q’s operating cost (training, Mx, FA’s, etc). You’re drinking way too much Kool-Aid!"""""""""

The differential payroll overhead to operate the aircraft (between 200 and 700 rates) is a zit on an elephants butt. +1 on your post. Skywest will get "last look" at this RFP and adjust accordingly.

SkyWest only gets last look at United RFP's due to our 80 million-ish loan to them. No such agreement under Continental RFP's. Word I hear is that United figured this out and are exploiting this point in the current RFP. I'm not sure SkyWest will be offered last look on the Q400 bid. Dang those deviously smart and sneaky lawyers!

In an effort to enhance our pilot recruitment efforts, we will be hosting a recruitment booth this year at the Reno Air Races for the week of September 13th-18th. Our booth will be located outdoors in the "General Aviation" area.
Please forward our personal invitation to any and all who would be interested in coming to the event and speaking with pilot recruiters.
We look forward to meeting them there!
Thank you for your continued efforts in helping us achieve our goals in finding the best possible candidates aviation has to offer.

Has anyone recently received an e-mail from SkyWest with a list of 10 mandatory questions? How long did it take you to hear back after you submitted your responses?

Thanks.

Lawn, I got that email early last week and promptly sent it in. I did some research on my past jobs I held about 10 years ago and and found out that I was marked down as terminated even though I put in a two week notice. So, I called in on Tuesday of this week to explain what had happened and send in an updated my mandatory questions. Two days later, I got a call to interview.

I got a call 3 days later. Still just waiting for a verdict from the interview.

How long is it taking to hear back lately? They told us to expect to hear back in 1-3 days and it's been about a week.
