Im a CFII and do a lot of instrument training but lately its been a lot flying in VMC with student under hood!
This seems clear, and yes they care:

The following minimums are required to be considered for a flying job with SkyWest Airlines:

• 1,200 – hours total time (preferred)
• 100 – hours multi engine
• 100 – hours instrument (only 20 hours of simulator will be counted toward total)

*Remember: Instrument is actual + simulated + and up to 20 from simulator

I haven't heard of HR bending on the mins. In fact a good buddy was turned away at a job fair. TT was 900. And multi was 90hrs. They chatted with him but would not set up a session in SLC until his times met mins.

Unless you know someone, the only time they might consider lowering the mins is if you have 121 CRJ time. And even now that's doubtful if they think there's any chance you won't make it to 1500 hours by August next year.

True this is the only way I know of people getting interviews without the mins

I'm headed to the 6/25 class, too--see you in SLC.

I met the mins for SkyWest back in May of this year when I finally hit 100 multi time, and I meet all the requirements for the ATP, written included. I also talked to one of the recruiters at the job fair in Vegas back in April, and talked to a lady on the phone about 3 weeks ago who asked me some pre-interview questions and sent my packet down to the lead HR lady. Anyone have an idea on how many pilot they're looking to hire, how long it takes to get a call back for an interview date, and any other good info. Thanks in advance.

Heard in the schoolhouse last week one Brasilia new hire class each month and an upgrade class each month starting in September. Not sure about the jet.

I was under the impression that most pilots who attend SkyWest job fairs are usually able to get an interview scheduled as long as they meet the mins. Do you have a bunch of speeding tickets or something? Do you have a college degree?

My apologies if this is posted somewhere else (lazy), but what operation is the Bro used for?

The Bro does both Delta and United flying, mostly on the west coast and some of of SLC. I think SkyWest does some of their own flying with it out of a couple places but I could easily be mistaken there.
