Default Skywest is calling

So I got an interview invite today. They offered a whole bunch of dates to choose from, 3 next week, 2 the week after, and 4 the week after that. They said that there were more dates available if those didn't work. Are they really doing that much interviewing right now. I thought it interesting.

Take the earliest available that you'll do well on. The earlier you interview, the better your seniority in the new hire class.

MSP is needing people, so I'm guessing (take with grain of salt) that several classes will go there, but it's not too long to get a western base (SLC) nor long on reserve (5 months to composite line in SLC, again, YMMV).

Don't be afraid to be personable during lunch. Push the tables together, leave room for the interviewers, invite the interviewers over, trade chips, laugh, tell sane flying stories, ask the interviewers questions about flying for Skywest. Get some time in a Frasca FTD (141 would be best) and remember it ain't a Cessna 421, you have to have a light touch to fly it properly. Listen to their feedback and take it to heart, and resolve to do better next time, or get brushed up before class. Richie's "Everything Explained" should be your study companion, and review the section on Exemption 3585 again the night before your interview. Do your best on the aeronautics test, but don't worry about it too much. Disclose everything, you wouldn't be invited if there was something they didn't like, and they will find out about all of your skeletons in your closets.

Good luck! Skywest does seem to need more pilots.

Do they not assign seniority by the last four of your SSN?

SSN assigned seniority -- it that high to low or low to high? Is first digit = '1' a good thing or a bad thing?

If you're already with Skywest but in a different department (ramp) does your seniority remain number one in your hire class granted everyone else is a complete new hire, or do you start at the bottom and go by SS number?

You keep your same employee number, but you go right back to the bottom on pilot seniority and go by your social.
