Theres an idea. However, a roomate of mine tried doing just that and was told that he couldn't. Not sure why though because i know they are "short staffed" on that side. Or at least they say they are..
I've talked to enough FOs on the 175 that are putting out apps other places because they are fed up with the empty promises. |

This is all gonna change by next summer. Were going from 48 ERJs to 104.

Why would anyone choose the E175 rather than the CRJ if said person wants to fly a lot?
Don't say that you all were not warned, because the information is right here on APC within the previous OO thread and now in this one. A friend of mine is training now on the ERJ; he selected it because he wants folks to believe that he is flying an A320 or B737. Yeah, that is one enlightening decision making process for one's future.... Bottom line: take the CRJ if you want to fly. |
CRJ pairings blow chunks.

That's for darn sure. No pairing diversity, either. It's all 4-days.

Who wants to wait around a year for it to get better?
They are at least doing exit surveys now, but I would imagine that any info gleaned from these that is contrary to SGU doctrine will be dismissed as the "vocal minority". This happens quite often in businesses that start out as a Mom and Pop shop but grow beyond their capacity. At some point your business grows beyond your current processes and you need to adapt your business model. Currently SW is "printing money" (direct quote from our SAPA Prez) because they are able to squeeze every drop of productivity from 3/4 of their work force. And the other 1/4 is flying more lucrative flying so if they are utilized less (more reserves, less hours awarded each month), they are still ahead. But you can only red line an engine for so long before you have catastrophic failure. Or you get an apathetic workforce that no longer cares about anything other than getting done with the day. The SAPA forums are a ghost town and almost everyone I talk to is looking to move on or get out of the industry. So again, if you have only been here a short time and you are already tired of the lies, it won't get any better. Seniority doesn't get you much around here. |

Not in SLC. I only bid middle of the pack and have only done two four day trips in the past four years. I probably average only one three day a month as well. I don't spend many overnights away from home.
Bet you don't have a lot of 4 days that go: 7amshow mdg, mdg, mdg, 13 hour duty day 10pm release day 4. All for a whopping 20-21 hours. Denver has a ton. |

Slc is the baby of the company. You get all the attention for trip mix, good overnights and we'll balanced pairings.
