I am indeed within the guaranteed lines. I did not waive default min. credit. Someone told me we gave that up though, and the new policy is that CS will force something else your schedule for everyone if PBS can't come up with 75 credit.

If you fall within the "guarnteed line holder" they will make it up to whatever the minimum is (75.whatever). If you fall below that into the target line holder they will give you a reserve day.
Make it up, as in simply pay me, or force something onto my line during the bid adjustment?

You're supposed to just get paid. But they'll just add something to your schedule. Welcome to no union.

Wow, congrats, I'm optimistic for you. Keep us posted.

In the fall they just paid me 3 hours or so and didn't add anything to my schedule. But I guess it could happen. I was also in a small base so they may not have had anything to assign me.

Doing some job research

Before I get jumped on, I admit that I am uniformed and looking for answers to a few question.

I've noted that Skywest does not have a union. However I see mention of SAPA. What is SAPA and how does it differ from a union? Also, if SKW does not have a union, what ability does the pilot group have to strike? It seems that without a union the pilot group has little to no leverage.

sax,

Calm down. You'll receive a PLG paid block.

Lets not forget, union or no union, no 4000person pilot group will be allowed to strike.

What uniform are you wearing? 😃
SAPA is basically a few pilots that management pays to tell the rest of the pilots how it's going to be.

As one of the many pilots that are at OO that use to work for a alpa airline i can say this is not a big deal. Its only the people on this board that bring it up spend all there days thinking about it... If having alpa at SKYW was such a big deal, we would be alpa already...
