It's hard to tell, depends how much growth that base gets. It opens up in July so it's all speculation at this point. Prepare yourself for the worst. Several months?

If you get out sooner life is that much better. I learned expect the worst and hope for the best is the best survival tactic around here.

Then again, I'm not sure what you're asking. Anyone else have experience making this commute? Thank you.

I knew a Captain who did that commute for awhile. I don't think there's a lot of competition but you'd be in the jumpseat a bit for a long flight. Keep in mind that IAH may not be attainable for awhile and even so you'd be commuting to reserve and then it might close in 2017. I guess you have a reason for needing to commute to IAH instead of a west coast base?

That's right Saxman, possibly with another airline and that's their only base on the ejet. Was just seeing if anyone from any airline was making the trip regularly. Are they pretty restrictive in only giving the jumpseat or is it possible they would allow a normal seat? You're right, does sound like a long time to be sitting on a bench :) Thanks for getting back.

If thats the only reason for you to commute to IAH, you're going to make your life a living he!!. Make your life easier. Lots of crews do the SAN-LAX by driving it. And SFO wouldn't be a bad commute either. Not sure by what you mean by restricting you to the jumpseat. If there's a seat in back, you take that. If it's full in back, you sit in the jump.

Tell me, at Skywest with no union, what exactly is the difference between probation and not?
