Since I received such an overwhelming response to my last question,(humor)I'll try another, can anyone comment on how the commute is SAN-IAH? Looks like it's mostly UA.
Thanks!

Why in the world would you do that commute?? When LAX is 20min flight away!!!

None. But they have a base were i live so i dont need any... You can compair and nitpick every airline and what they have vs what you have. Make your bed and enjoy it... So far OO has been a way better ride then my Eagle days.. More money, Home ect... Guess the $230 i save in union dues would pay for 7 stays a month at the airport inn...

You're making over $11k per month at OO?!

Because that's how much you would have to make to be stuck giving ALPA $230... How many years di you have to be at skywest to pull in $141k/year!?

Not to mention alpa would never allow the "historical credit" bs which has been calculated to be 2-3% pay cut

There's your union dues right there my man.

How much could a first officer expect to make at Skywest first year? Is it as simple as $36.50 (per hour rate) x 1000hrs? Is there a range depending on how much you want to work? Would $40,000 be possible/realistic as a first year FO?

Gross pay, my first 12 months at Skywest, if you include per diem, came out to $41,000+. My pay was $30 except for the last three months which was at $36.50 and my first month which was at $24. After taxes, insurance, and a bunch of other deductions, take home pay is going to vary depending on your personal circumstances.

I am on the CRJ and always credited more than min guarantee.

Come again? I won't be based at LAX. I need to commute to IAH. Why would I first commute to LAX, than IAH? And if you meant, drive to LAX, it's 2 hours.

Then again, I'm not sure what you're asking. Anyone else have experience making this commute? Thank you.

Any idea of length ?

Sounds like you get hold MSP out of training on the CRJ. That may change soon though.
