Ah, I didn't know at-risk fell in the same scope limitations.
As far as at-risk/EAS goes, I was under impression that while many at-risk routes are EAS they weren't one and the same. Bottomline is that many of the 200s will outlive the 700s... maybe even some 170s. I think RAH returned a bunch of 170s to the lessor. |

What about the 700s that fly for eagle ? Seems like none of the WO's are getting enough people to keep up .
There may be some more potential there... but it also depends on domiciles. A lot of the WO that cannot staff they flying are east coast oriented. Having said that, this may be an interesting new hire strategy to pursue for SKYW. Open up a NY, IAD or MIA domicile and you can tap into a new pool of potential applicants. But the operational risk may outweigh the benefit. |
Any idea of the time frame from applying to getting a call?

It took one month back in December for a buddy of mine who was a current CFI but no recent flying in six months. Lots of mistakes on his application though.... Most folks are being called within one week, two weeks tops, so long as they meet ATP/R-ATP mins. |

The 700s don't get renewed because they are being replaced by 175 and UA has it its scope limit. So they couldn't renew them even if they wanted to.
The scope clause for the 50 seaters is tied to total narrow body fleet. More narrow bodies means more room for 50 seaters. As long as we can staff them, there will be 50 seater flying - either because UA wants us to, at risk or EAS. Why turn money away? |

2 things. The 65 737s and 30 320s UA is getting are not allowed to up scope numbers. Only aircraft such as E190. Second thing is if you read and watch their outline, they say these aircraft are specifically to REPLACE 50 seat aircraft. They know passengers don't like them and they know there will be issues staffing them. They are going away. In the next 3 years. And DL has its own agenda.
