Yet I'm home and have to work early first thing in the morning so now I guess I'll have to get up extra early just to get Jepp fixed. Jesus Christ.
Why are you wasting your personal time? If it's giving your problems don't worry about it until you report for duty. Also, if you mess with the stupid EFB within ten hours of show time... 1) Your duty time starts when you start messing with it. 2) You might not even have the legal ten hours rest depending on your schedule. 3) You left a digital paper trail of doing company business during rest period. Everybody, company included, kind of glosses over this issue, but it's very real and is going to bite people in the butt eventually. You know the FAR 117 warning on all the quarterly trainings? Same principle. |

Dangerous logic as you could extend that to other things.
You want to get paid for a deadhead? You want to get paid for a holiday at home? Min guarantee is just that. The Company (Pbs) had its chance to get this line holder a line. It failed and he gets his guarantee and he gets his vacation. |

Same principle. Is this a Skywest thing? 117 doesn't say if you update an EFB off duty that it interferes with your rest. If the company requires it, then it interferes with rest. If someone voluntarily messes with their EFB it's not considered to have interrupted rest. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
Skywest requires an update before every fdp, needs to be same calendar day as fdp
I've gotten into arguments about how absurdly stupid this is Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk |

I never do them at home, so if I'm at a hotel mid rest period and I start doing those, that kicks off the duty clock? |

So I admit that I don't understand the full legalities of this.

I never do them at home, so if I'm at a hotel mid rest period and I start doing those, that kicks off the duty clock? In your examples, you're voluntarily doing those things during your rest period. It wouldn't count towards FDP or mess up your rest. |
