So there are more 700s going to AA on top of the original 7 that went to LA?

It's gets really annoying looking at your weak responses to most posts. If you think I am a troll, you are mistaken. Most of your comments contribute absolutely NOTHING to any thread and just get in the way of people who want action and want to get out of the regional that will leave you high and dry when the planes go away

That's great. But. I fear the plans UA and DL have for regional reduction will put us well below 2000 pilots in a few years and reduce hiring needs substantially

Very doubtfull.. We have been 3000+ for awhile and still have 50 ac to go. I could see 4000 as the ~. Hitting 4500 this winter then if. Yes if some CRJ's go away being 4K for awhile. Thats without any more ERJ's. But im guessing based off of sims bought that will have closer to 200 ERJ's. That would put us at 5K plus pilots...

If Skywest goes below 2,000 pilots due to fleet reduction because mainline is taking back flying then those 2,000 pilots will have been hired by mainline carriers. This is exactly what we all want. If United and Delta want to shrink the regionals and hire 2,000 of us to do it I fail to see the problem

And eventually scratch off the "Express" and "Connection" titles on the 76-seaters. :D

Yes, but upgauging three daily -200 flights to a certain outstation, to a single 737 flight to that same outstation...

...requires 2 mainline pilots, rather than the 6 regional pilots required to operate those 3 daily -200 flights.

Personally I wish UA, DL, AA, and AS would take back all the regional flying tomorrow, just so we don't have to listen to JetBrat22 whine about his upgrade.

N1234 06-23-2016 05:04 PM

As long as regionals can staff the flying there will be plenty of 200s and 175s flying around.

Plenty of Nowhere, ND that cannot support a 737 but happily a 200. And with plenty of EAS $ going around nobody will turn that business away.
