Yep, if he wanted to be based in LAX or SFO and goes with the E175, he should be fine. Kinda of a pain to commute, but I am doing it.

They sound like perfect places for an unhappy ASA/Xjet pilot. GoJets might even be better.

I am aware of one happy former DTW Xjet captain. For now, a one off. We may see more like him. HR is not even acknowledging his upgrade. As of a few days ago, HR officially shows a 21 month upgrade on the pilot recruiting webpage, down from 23 months.

Does anyone know what the SkyWest background checks involve these days? I have heard it used to be (or maybe still is) just reference checks and 10 year crim history - which shouldn't take them too long I wouldn't think. But I have been waiting for mine to be completed for quite some time now so just curious if there are now additional steps going on. Further, can anyone tell me if they had to wait til they started training for checks to be complete? I have nothing to hide but I still feel uneasy resigning from my current job without knowing for certain they are 100% happy with everything.

Thanks for the info hotbreeze. How long did it take you to hold a line out of LAX or SFO? Are you driving to SFO or flying to LAX from SMF?

I interviewed in early June and was in the July 25 ground, I don't think they finished background until week 2 of ground. In fact there were stories of ppl getting pulled from ground and terminated after stuff was discovered with PRIA or criminal history but that's all just second hand hearsay I can't say for sure.
