Whats the wait time looking like for reserve as well as upgrade time?
Just so you guys know they just added the times to their main website so those who don't have access can see how seniority stacks up for certain bases on both jets (FO & Capt.) Pilot » SkyWest Airlines Scroll down to the domicile map and you can click seniority tab. Not sure how often they will update it but it's new. |

There was a draft proposal from SAPA to hire pilots, reserve only, to fly less than the minimum required monthly credit of 58:36. It's just a proposal and will likely not go beyond the draft stage.

Newbie question-
I'm confused on the "most junior" FO and CA dates. I'm guessing those are hire dates. But how does that tell me how long that person was on reserve? Thanks! |

So if there are 50 guaranteed line holders in a base, look at the seniority list for #50. Then find that person in the directory and you'll have their DOH. Sure, this won't be exactly perfect since some guys senior to that guy might bid reserve, but it'll be close enough... |

2 years on the CRJ. If you take a junior base like ORD or DTW you won't sit on reserve longer than a month if that....all depends on where you're looking.

I'm new here. I keep reading/hearing that DTW and ORD are the junior bases but then I see people say, "IF I take ORD..".
Do you get a choice of a few bases? I'm asking because I live in Fresno and know SKW has a base here but also assume it's pretty senior since I hear nobody really speak of it. Can anyone help me out? I'm trying to decide on which regionals make sense. Compass is ideal because I know guys who got LAX a few months ago as newbies. However they're currently not hiring from what my friends tell me; I also hear that may only be fairly temporary. Who really knows... but commuting out of FAT on one leg is hard enough, let alone 2 (possibly more) legs to ORD or DTW. Anyway, just looking for guidance as I find my way back to flying. Thanks! |

Thanks, how long did they have to wait? Or was that right out of class?

It won't. To figure that out, you need to pull up the monthly bid info and look at the guaranteed and target line holders in a particular base. Then look at the seniority list, and finally the employee directory for date of hire.

So why does the airline publish those dates for the general public when we don't have access to all the info for it to make sense? Is there any other purpose it serves? |
