Don't most of United's new hires come from SkyWest?

Go to college for the degree, to study, have friendships, and enjoy the once in a lifetime opportunity.....not to get hired at United. You're just trying to pick a road someone else paved. Pave your own path, study what you want to study, and focus on getting your certificates. You're doing all this research WAY to early. Focus on the aerodynamics of a Cessna, not what regional has the best domiciles?

Also, the majority of our pilots go DL and LUV, not UAL

17 year ASA guy here..it is deplorable what Skywest Inc. is doing to the legacy ASA group. We did nothing to deserve this. They are destroying lives for the all mighty dollar. Thanks.

Get your apps out and move on.

Yeah, a little way too early! And even after he is hired by a regional, he still shouldn't worry about it.

United literally hires 7000 hr pilots with thousands of hrs of jet time, making your odds zero at 1500/2000 hrs whatever unless you have some VERY influential contacts who may be able to put your name to the top. Don't drive yourself insane, Student01.

I agree, what Inc has done to ASA and XJT has made me despise the SkyWest brand with every fiber of my being. As for the SkyWest pilot group, they're a decent bunch of folks. They're caught up in the same fecal parade we're in. It's unfortunate that our Mormon overlords favor their side over ours, but that's beyond anyone's control. All we can do is double down the efforts to jump off this sinking ship, and let SGU deal with the flaming wreckage they've created.

Anybody commuting from Dallas to Detroit? Just about out of training, and wondering if anyone has any experience with that commute. Thanks!

One of my friends from class is. Don't think he's had any issues except cutting it close one time.

ORD is easier if you're coming from DFW. DTW is also achievable, but there is less frequency of flights.

It's not bad. Just getting to and from the North Terminal and the Delta terminal is pretty annoying. Chicago has way more flights but more competition from other pilots as well.

Right now... 3-9 months depending...? I would guess. My class was the last one to get LAX out of training and that was a few months ago. The odds are not in your favor now.
