Just since you're on the topic of ORD living, two questions.

1. Is Evanston an easy/tough commute to the airport, and how expensive of an area would that be?

2. In the interest of lower taxes, less tolls, cheaper property, etc., does anyone just live in southern WI and make the commute? Would you recommend that or is it not worth it?

I know people who commute both. Evanston expect at least 45 minutes on a good day, 2 hours on a bad one. There is no real highway from there to ORD.

Lower Wisco I have done myself for a month. It's a 2 hour drive and if you're trying to avoid tolls NOT the way to go. If you want cheaper living you don't need to go quite that far.

Depending on your proximity to 294 plan on about 30-45 min with no traffic from theses suburbs. Hickory Palos La Grange are all nice Oak Lawn and south are becoming garbage now that people from South and East Chicago are moving to them.

Park Ridge. Can't get any easier.

This must be Billdo lol...

Great suburb but very very expensive! Try Edison Park or Norwood Park in the City for the same feel and look, but at a somewhat more affordable price range.

My buddy is pretty set on Lakeview. Thought that was a more expensive part of town but maybe not.

Really do appreciate all the input though.

Wasn't it the fish tank light business? Nothing like listening to Rush Limbaugh in cruise...

Noticed a Skywest flight out of ORD Skywest 4283 as an e135. I'm assuming that's a typo?

Just avoid Richton Park, Park Forest, Harvey, Alsip, Blue Island, Chicago Heights, Markham, Midlothian, Hazel Crest et al

Yeah, born and raised in the south burbs and now living in the nw burbs where I don't have to deal with that garbage so before you tell the kid to live at 95th and Cicero (Oak Lawn) he should know it's not the greatest part of town.
