Only on locals.

It's all "income" according to the IRS, they simply distinguish between the "taxable" and the "non-taxable" varieties.

Its not part of your AGI. It's not income.

Technically Skywest is doing us a favor by paying per diem on day trips. They really don't have to, but it seems to be industry standard. You're not really "away from base" on a local. Consider it extra beer money.

It most certainly IS part of your AGI if it is paid while working at you home base or for any amount in excess of the federal standardized rate.

Per Diem is income paid to an employee to cover meals and expenses that under certain defined circumstances is not taxable. Period.

Any point beyond that that you're trying to make regarding how we SHOULD get paid or how we SHOULD compare pay rates is semantic.

The federal rate for transportation employees is above our 43 a day, and yes per diem during locals is income

Don't **** on my feet and tell me it's raining. Well north of 100k and I'm sure you're whoring your yourself out. I'm talking about straight salary, not including bonuses...which are not guaranteed.

$88x85 hours=$7480.00 a month
Perdiem is probably around $500.00 a month

Straight pay is less than $100k like I said unless you're whoring yourself out. Sure throw in the bonus and vacation and which are not guaranteed and you're over $100K.

If you're home every night, I get it...might as well stay...quality of life is huge.

Who's getting only 85 awarded? Fo side is minimum 93 hours a month. Period. 20% in base? Doesn't matter. 93 hours.
