Companies that are offering sign on and retention bonuses are doing so because they can't attract pilots in any other way, usually long upgrades and or crappy old planes. Endeavors bonus program ends soon. Ask yourself would any airline just give out 20k to each pilot if it was the place to work and could attract people....if yes that's some seriously generous management and they moist

If they wait that long it will be to late. They are already struggling to fill classes and keep up with attrition. United has not really been hiring for the last 5 months and now they are ramping back up so you can expect twice as many pilots leaving per month next year.

This.
United slowed down due to the relocation of all their training operations to DEN, as well as an expansion of the current facility. By this time next year it will all be up and running. A buddy of mine there says that 700 new pilots isn't an unreasonable number for 2017. |

80-100 new hires a month is struggling? Yea ok you should research class sizes anywhere else
80-100 is not accurate. The longer term average (people who are left at the end of IOE) runs more like 60 per month. |

Skywest is not yet "struggling to find people". Could it happen this next year? Sure it could and I hope it does. Best that we could ask for is Skywest beginning to have trouble hiring right before contract negotiations.

Never said it was better at AA if you could find that for me and requote me please. I have only been pointing out what these new policies at skw really are. You have an issue with that ? Ok, but I'm looking for us all at skw to get compensated correctly and not get their streams crossed with these "amazing" benefits for the skw pilot group which is what I was responding too.
But thanks. |
