I am sure there are better practices than the UK NHS. But it should make you pause to know that the US spends 70% more on healthcare (as a percentage on GDP) than any other civilized Western nation (Health expenditure, total (% of GDP) | Data)

Yet the outcomes are worse along pretty much any dimension - here a comparison of US (http://www.who.int/gho/countries/usa.pdf) vs. CA (http://www.who.int/gho/countries/can.pdf?ua=1).

THREAD CREEP!!! I'm in.

As the previous poster said in regards to our actually dollars as a % of our GDP, we could simply fork over the same amount of $ on hellcare and none of my fellow Americans would ever have to worry or wait to go to a hospital. With the cash we spend we could have doctors on standby for doctors who are on standby. The trick is cutting out the mega corporations out of what is obviously not a marketplace.

So if you do your CTP in mid-December and then start Indoc in early January, your seniority within the class would be from the December date, right? (most senior in the new class, given nobody else did the same..)

Unless there's cadets that are even more senior than you.

Yes, CTP is helpful in the way. I was able to be in the top 15 out of 70 due to CTP course. only people a head of my CTP classmates were cadets.

ORD or DTW transfer for DEC?

Hello,

I'm in MSP right now and will have to commute to somewhere for December from both NC and Utah (long story). The lines keep moving away from me in MSP so was looking at either DTW, which I am 99% sure I can hold a line or ORD. I am trying to get to SLC but see the DVR says zero, plus I wouldn't mind having a line for a month. Any insight into the chances of getting a line in ORD or what would be a better commute. I am about 355- in seniority right now.

Thanks

You'll have more choices when commuting to ORD, but you'll have to determine if you'll have a line there or not. SLC-DTW is a hub-hub commute for Delta, and they own the route and probably have a fair amount of commuters who will bump you from the jumpseat. DTW to NC is probably doable though. So I'd say do ORD as long as you're a line holder there.

Even with a DVR of zero.. usually 8-10 people get in... i would say ORD. More comuting choices..

When did you start class? Last I heard, they stopped doing this. (Which is good, cuz it's a b.s. practice.)

So we're going to start West Coast Shuttle ops again for Delta?
RG's message seemed a little vague.
